I have decided to participate in ‘twelve by 2012′, a great idea for procrastinators like me from Hello, Friend. The concept is simple – create a list of 12 things you want to achieve by the start of 2012. I like to think of these as pre-New Years resolutions…
- Reduce the emails in my inbox – I currently have 1532 unread messages
- Bake a pie from scratch – that means making homemade pastry
- Package all xmas gifts beautifully
- Blog at least 3 times a week, every week
- Go the gym class I enjoy every week
- Re-blog something I love on tumblr everyday
- Make homemade chai
- Organise the files on my computer
- Make something crafty that I have never made before
- Cook something new once a week
- Make or bake something with pumpkin in it
- Write letters to all my friends in different cities
What do you want to achieve before the beginning of 2012?
Hello Carla, I’m really enjoying your blog. I have just recently baked my first ever pie from scratch and it was very satisfying. I’ve set my self a challenge this month to bake 80 things from around the world, things I’ve never baked before and I’m blogging about it too.
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog so much that I nominated it blog for an award, the Liebster Blog Award, awards for and by bloggers to help spread the joy. Hope you like it…. You can read the nomination and more information on the awards here

Thank you so much! Will definitely spread the joy and nominate my favourite 5. Love your blog too!
Let me help you with that pie or pastry crust. I posted my Mom’s never-fail recipe on “The Kale Chronicles.” It has made pie bakers out of scaredy cats. thekalechronicles.com/2011/09/03/gravenstein-apple-pie/
Thank you – if it can turn me from a scaredy cat to a pie baker it is definitely worth a try! Time to overcome my pastry fear and get baking!
You are welcome, Carla. Let me know if you have any questions when you try it. — Sharyn
Love your blog! Your list is great too – I have WAAY too many emails in my inbox as well! I love the idea of number 3 as well – a beautifully packaged gift shows so much thought. Good luck with your list!
